Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual General Meeting on 22 June 2026. The AGM offered an important opportunity to reflect on SANATA’s journey over the past year, celebrate the dedication of our members and volunteers, and collectively shape the direction of our association for the years ahead.
The meeting was marked by thoughtful discussion, meaningful member engagement, and a renewed commitment to strengthening the arts therapies profession in South Africa.
Reflecting on a Year of Growth.
Our Chairperson’s report invited us to honestly reflect on both our achievements and the challenges we continue to navigate as a volunteer-led professional association. Over the past year, SANATA has continued to strengthen its advocacy efforts, deepen member engagement, expand professional development opportunities, and establish clearer strategic priorities for the future.
Particular emphasis was placed on our growing advocacy work with the HPCSA and the Department of Health, the continued development of our CPD offerings, strengthening governance systems, and building sustainable structures that will support SANATA’s long-term growth.
